nbm played a critical role throughout the project by:
• Reviewing and refining budgets in line with the Client’s brief
• Advising on the most suitable form of contract to allow early contractor involvement
• Supporting contractor selection and negotiation of the final contract value
• Monitoring and reporting cost updates throughout the construction stage
A thorough pre contract design stage and early Contractor appointment enabled detailed planning of critical activities. Excellent flexibility and coordination between the Client and Contractor during the construction stage assisted in resolving issues on site and ultimately in the delivery of the project on time.
nbm’s input was critical throughout the process:- reviewing and updating budget costs against the Client’s brief; selection of form of contract to maximise flexibility and early Contractor involvement; Contractor selection; contract value negotiation and Contractor appointment; reviewing and updating contract costs regularly to keep Client informed.
A strong partnership between the Client and contractors enabled agile decision-making, and careful planning ensured guest disruption was kept to a minimum throughout the 14-week programme.
The Client was extremely satisfied with the transformation and the collaboration. Stephen Leckie, CEO of Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, described the project as “our single biggest project in decades”, adding that it will “put us on the map for food and drink in Scotland” and create “even more memorable experiences for guests staying or dining with us.”
